Information to the attention of non-members of the Thematic Network on Decommissiong: "Topical Information Meeting about research in Decommissioning of Nuclear Installations (NUCTECH-2003-3.4.3.1-4), Brussels (location to be confirmed), Monday, March 10,The EC is organising the subject seminar with the aim to discuss proposals for Euratom FP-6 projects in the area "Decommissioning of Nuclear Installations" amongst the scientific community and the decision makers interested in this specific subject. This is area NUCTECH-2003-3.4.3.1-4 of the first call-for-proposals of Euratom FP-6.

A number of current FP-5 projects in the area of decommissioning have come to preliminary conclusions and a draft proposal for FP-6 is under preparation that will be presented on that occasion. The following topics will be addressed:
- The Thematic Network on Decommissioning of Nuclear Installations (EC-TND);
- The EC Decommissioning Information Network (EC-DB-NET2);
- The EC Decommissioning Web Site (www.eu-decom.be);
- Innovative Remote Dismantling Techniques (IRDIT);
- Standardised Decommissioning Cost Estimating of WWER-440 Nuclear Power Plants (SCE);
- Compendium on the State-of-the-Art in Decommissioning (CDD);
- The European Nuclear Decommissioning Training Facility (EUNDETRAF).
An introduction will also be given on an Expression of Interest that was launched in order to implement a co-ordinated action in the area “Decommissioning of Nuclear Installations”.
Other scientific and technical presentations containing remarks and/or other proposals are welcome at the subject seminar and should be transmitted using the EC registration form. The agenda will be finalised shortly after the registration deadline and will be sent out, together with the exact location in Brussels, to all participants.
The meeting room in Brussels is unfortunately limited to 100 persons, this is why the registrations will be taken on a first come first serve basis. As it is indicated in the enclosed EC Letter, please fill in the relevant registration form and address it by the 21st of February, to:
